(Italian version)
Deadline: July 1 2024, 12 pm
The English version will be available soon at the address http://www.unina.it/didattica/post-laurea/dottorati-di-ricerca/english-version.
Number of positions available: 9, of which 6 financed by the Federico II University and 3 financed by the PNRR (DM 630)
The topics available for the 6 positions financed by the Federico II University are:
Biotechnological applications of halophilic microbes and their functionalization for sustainable agriculture
Comprehension of how environmental signals (chemical/physical) are transduced in fungal cells and impact the physiology, infectivity and interaction of soil-borne plant pathogenic fungi with the plant host and/or the associated microbiome
Characterization of antimicrobial peptides to be applied in food and cosmeceutical fields
Integrated biorefineries for the valorization of wastes and designing of microbial cell-factories for their conversion in bio-based products
Electrochemical and optical biosensors for environmental monitoring, food safety, and medical diagnostics
Development of bioprocesses - see webpage (link) for details
The topics available for the 3 positions financed by PNRR:
Use of microalgae as a source of high added value molecules. A biorefinery approach will be used and the isolated molecules biologically characterized
(Hyper)Thermophiles-inspired molecular strategies to address environmental pollution with biotechnological approaches
Development of industrial processes and biotechnological products for health and the environment
How to write the research project
The research project, in Italian OR in English, must, UNDER EXCLUSION, clearly indicate which topic of the 40th cycle of the PhD in Biotechnology, chosen among those reported above, refers to and must not be longer than 1000 words (about two typewritten A4 pages).
The text must describe a possible PhD thesis project, illustrating the scientific background, objectives, methods of implementation, and the scientific and technological approaches to be followed. Figures and tables cannot be inserted.
